Biking & Cycling
To help you enjoy the area, Viceroy Snowmass partners with Aspen Cycling Tours to offer excursions for all experience levels, from complete beginners to professional riders. Enjoy fully-guided cycling tours in the Aspen and Snowmass area in the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley.
The Elk Camp Gondola at Snowmass takes hikers to the beautiful midway point or the summit of Snowmass Mountain – offering a trail system covering 50 miles of terrain.
Fly-Fishing (All Season)
Snowmass and Aspen have some of the best fly fishing in United States, boasting two Gold Metal rivers, The Roaring Fork, and The Frying Pan. We work with a few fantastic outfitters for private fishing tours and you can choose between a wading or floating trip.
Rafting & Kayaking
Rafting is the most popular summer adventure activity in the Roaring Fork Valley. Trips are offered from beginner levels to advanced or even a specialty whitewater private trip. Great trips to choose from include the Upper and Lower Roaring Fork, Brown’s Canyon which is on the Arkansas River, the Turbulent Triple Shoshone, and both Slaughterhouse and Numbers for the thrill seekers.
All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Tours
ATV excursions are one of the most scenic and exhilarating tours you can experience during the summer months. Each machine can accommodate one or two riders. 2-hour, 4-hour, 8-hour, and full-day rentals are available. This is a free ride, and not a “guided” tour. This allows riders more freedom and options for riding.
Enjoy tours that are guided through the Snowmass Wilderness area and along Maroon Creek leading up to Maroon Bells. There are a few horseback rides to choose from, including pony rides, 1-hour, 2-hour, half-day, and full-day rides. Lunch and dinner rides are available and are an absolute treat.
Enjoy the natural beauty and spectacular course at the award-winning Jim Engh golf course at the Snowmass Club.
At Snowmass, the popular sport of Disc Golf takes a high-altitude twist. Two 18-hole mountain courses wind through high alpine meadows and primeval glens to heart-stopping vistas. One course is accessed from Base Village; the other is accessed from the top of the Elk Camp Gondola.
Join us for a wild game of outdoor paintball! You will be provided all the equipment and transportation - you need to wear grubby clothes and sturdy shoes!

No matter the season, the local attractions in Aspen and Snowmass offer unexpected adventures. Hot air balloon rides are one of the most amazing ways to see the Rocky Mountains, and a tour with one of the guides from Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) is the best way to experience the wildlife around you. Or head to the Snowmass Rodeo during the summer for fun with the family. There are also wine tours through Paonia, home to some of the highest vineyards in the world.
Hot Air Balloon Rides
Hot Air Balloon rides are an amazing way to see the Rocky Mountains from a bird’s eye view. You will fly over mountains for approximately one hour, before landing among the pastures and concluding with a champagne breakfast. You will return to Viceroy at approximately 8:30-9:00am, which leaves you the entire day to participate in other activities.
Tour With A Naturalist Guide
Looking to explore Aspen/Snowmass on your own schedule? Hire a guide from Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES), available by the hour, to lead you on all sorts of adventures. ACES can provide transportation and will even pick up snacks and lunch. Adventures range from educational wildlife tours to challenging hikes.
The Snowmass Rodeo, held on Wednesday nights, is a must if you are visiting Snowmass during the summer! The grounds open at 5pm, with BBQ served at 5pm and the Rodeo starting at 7pm. Here you will see great events such as Bareback Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding and, of course, the Calf Scrambling and Mutton Busting for kids! Children between the ages of 4 years and 10 years can enter the Calf Scramble. This is a really fun evening for the entire family.
A fantastic way to see another gem of Colorado is to visit the great wineries of Paonia, home to some of the highest wineries in the world.
