Accessibility
The Observatory, a Viceroy Resort, is designed so that every guest — regardless of ability — can move through and enjoy the property comfortably and independently. Accessibility has been built into the resort from the ground up, and every public space is fully accessible: guestrooms and suites, public areas and pathways, all three dining venues, the spa and pool, meeting and event spaces, and the resort's signature Observatory.

Accessible Guestrooms & Suites
The resort offers a range of fully accessible king and double-queen accommodations, finished to the same design standard as the rest of the collection — floor-to-ceiling windows, spa-inspired bathrooms, and locally sourced amenities — with features such as widened doorways and turning space, lowered counters and closet rods, roll-in or separate showers with grab bars, and
visual/audio alert systems.
- Deluxe Accessible King — a well-appointed king room with an accessible bath configuration.
- Premier Accessible King (450 sq. ft.) — a spacious king room with an accessible roll-in
shower and generous circulation space. - Premier Accessible Double Queen (450 sq. ft.) — two queen beds, ideal for families or
groups traveling together who need accessible accommodations. - Premier Accessible Studio Suite — a king studio suite offering additional living space
alongside full accessibility features.
Guests may also request connecting accessible rooms and specific bedding, shower, or
communication accommodations at the time of booking.
Public Areas, Entrances & Elevators
Valet parking and a level, no-step entrance lead into the main lobby. Elevators connect every guest floor to the lobby, dining venues, spa, pool, lounge, and event spaces. A wide, clear pathways link all public areas of the resort so guests can move throughout the property without encountering steps or narrow passages.
Dining Venues
All three of the resort's dining venues are fully accessible, with step-free entry and accessible table seating:
- Joan — the resort's signature restaurant & bar, celebrating seasonal, locally sourced Idaho ingredients.
- Odin's Corner — a casual café for coffee, light bites, and grab-and-go service.
- Andy's Watershed — the poolside bar, offering accessible seating at the water's edge.
Spa & Pool
The 5,000-square-foot spa, overlooking Trail Creek River and surrounding alpine meadows, is fully accessible, including its thermal pool, cold plunge, and steam room. The resort's pool area is likewise accessible, allowing every guest to enjoy the wellness experience the resort was built around.
The Observatory
The resort's namesake Observatory — home to a professional-grade 17-inch PlaneWave telescope within the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve — is a fully accessible experience. Guided sky tours are led by a resident astronomer, and telescope imagery is broadcast throughout the property, so guests with mobility considerations can take part in the stargazing experience from accessible viewing areas as well as from the Observatory itself.
Meeting & Event Spaces
The resort's meeting and event venues, framed by views of the Sawtooth Mountains and inspired by the natural materials of the Wood River Valley, are fully accessible for conferences, weddings, and private celebrations, with accessible entrances, seating, and staging arrangements available on request.
