Dr. Edward A. Taub, who is celebrating his Golden Anniversary as a physician this year, is the wellness pioneer who directs the ‘A Way to Wellness’ program at Viceroy Zihuatanejo resort that guides guests to happiness, health and wellness.
Over his distinguished and compelling career in pursuit of achieving health and wellness, he founded Integrative Medicine, established the first Wellness Medical Departments in American hospitals, and was the national spokesperson for the American Medical Association’s historic “Stop Smoking Campaign.”
Dr. Taub has conducted more than a hundred “Voyages To Wellness” – the first ocean-going wellness programs – for Cunard, Windstar and Holland America cruise lines. He’s currently the Ship Doctor on the historic schooner Curlew, in Dana Point, California, where he conducts “Voyages To Wellness” for both children and adults.
He has written eight books on wellness. “Balance Your Body, Balance Your Life’ was made into a popular national PBS Special. “The Wellness Solution” was co-authored with Dr. Ferid Murad who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for discovering that nitric oxide is our body’s “signaling” molecule that determines whether we stay healthy or not; the book, published by The World Almanac, provides the scientific basis for Dr. Taub's work, including the "A Way to Wellness" program at Viceroy Zihuatanejo.
Dr. Taub has appeared on the Today Show, Good Morning America, The O'Reilly Factor, The CBS Morning Show and CNN. He also hosted his own popular TV show on QVC for 13 years.
He is the Wellness Medical Advisor for the Viceroy Zihuatanejo, Insider’s Guide To Spas, and the Wellness & Prevention Coalition. He serves as the Medical Director of the Wellness Medical Institute and is licensed to practice medicine as a physician and surgeon in California.
