    Palm Springs Art Museum
    101 N Museum Drive, Palm Springs

    Founded in 1938, the Palm Springs Art Museum has an extensive permanent collection including significant works by western, contemporary and glass artists, and features temporary exhibitions from internationally acclaimed artists. The museum is dedicated to creating memorable and inspiring interactions through educational and cultural opportunities. The museum is a short stroll or bicycle ride from the hotel. 

    Palm Springs Air Museum
    745 N Gene Autry Trail, Palm Springs

    Nestled next to The Palm Springs International Airport, this museum is home to one of the world’s largest collections of flyable WWII Airplanes, the museum boasts related artifacts, artwork, and library sources highlighting the World War II Era . See 27 Flyable Warbirds, a Vintage car collection; Tour through a flyable B-17 bomber, and be sure to test your skill on flight simulators.

    Agua Caliente Cultural Museum
    219 S Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs

    Located around the corner from the hotel on The Village Green, discover native Palm Springs, and the history and culture of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, the earliest inhabitants of this region. Engaging exhibitions at the Museum and off-site locations inform how the Agua Caliente and other indigenous peoples lived over the past 3,000 years. The Village Green Heritage Center is also on the site, and features Palm Springs history information. 

    Insider Tip: Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride and tour from the Big Horse Carriage Company Carriage stop. Try a date shake at Palm Springs Fudge and Chocolates.

    Family Fun

    Children’s Discovery Museum
    71701 Gerald Ford Dr, Rancho Mirage

    Located in Rancho Mirage, this museum is a hands-on museum in a safe, caring setting. Inspiring curiosity and self-expression through inventive and interactive exhibits for young children, activities include a rope maze, rock climbing, gravity ball fall, loom weaving, "Paint the Volkswagen”, and play dress-up with a variety of costumes from “Grandma’s Attic”. 

    Wet and Wild Water Park
    1500 S Gene Autry Trail, Palm Springs

    Turn up the heat, here comes the fun! Open Mid-March through Mid October. Longboards, surf woodies and beach themes are back in order for the coolest and only water park in Palm Springs. Filled with 18 intense water rides and attractions, Wet 'n' Wild Palm Springs is a 21-acre oasis that offers families hours of fun. 

    Insider tip: Don't forget to bring your sunscreen. Oh, and get a snowcone to cool off, they're the best in town! 

    The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens

    Located in Palm Desert, The Living Desert is a remarkable zoo and botanical garden representing the desert environments of North America and Africa. With over 1200 protected acres, 450 wild animals, live animal shows, kids’ play park, tranquil gardens, model train exhibit, hiking trails, tram rides and more, visitors experience an oasis of family fun. The Living Desert close to El Paseo Drive, so adults can get some shopping in as part of the Zoo excursion!

    Retail Therapy

    El Paseo

    Also known as the “Rodeo Drive” of the desert, features top-name couture shops, unique boutiques and fabulous dining in the resort community of Palm Desert. El Paseo Drive is located approximately 15-20 minutes from the hotel, however many shops are open late so consider it an all day adventure.

    Insider Tip: there are a bunch of upscale dining options, our Concierge has the inside scoop and get you a seat at your favorite restaurant. 

    Cabazon Outlets & Desert Hills Premium Outlets

    Approximately 20 minutes from our front door are two extremely popular shopping outlets, with many brand names to choose from, offering casual to haute couture merchandise. 

    Insider tip: Only shop here if you brought an extra suitcase for the trip home. All the shops offer great deals on a weekly basis. Don't say we didn't warn you. 

    The Uptown Design District

    Stroll and explore galleries, Mid-Century interior design shops and hip couture boutiques on North Palm Canyon Drive. 

    Insider Tip: Take out a resort bike and explore the Historic Tennis Club, Palm Springs Art Museum, O’Donnell Golf Club, and Old Las Palmas neighborhoods west of Palm Canyon Drive. View many homes boasting Mid-Century Modern décor as you work your way North and then jump over to Palm Canyon to explore the Uptown Design District.

    Hikes & Exploration

    The Indian Canyons
    38500 S Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs

    A very short drive or bicycle ride from The Viceroy, The Agua Caliente Indian Reservation provides access to hiking trails in the three Indian canyons. Palm Canyon, Andreas Canyon, and Murray Canyon are home of the native Washingtonia filifera palm tree that often line the lush oases in the canyons. For quick access to a beautiful shady oasis and easy trail just off a parking area, veer to the right after passing through the toll booth. The oasis of Andreas Canyon is steps from your vehicle, and easy hiking trails begin here. There numerous trails in the three canyons take you deep into the back country. If you are an equestrian enthusiast, rent a horse at nearby Smoke Tree Stables and take a guided tour to the Indian Canyons. 

    Palm Spring Aerial Tramway
    1 Tram Way, Palm Springs, CA

    Escape the heat in the summer or play around in the white snow in the winter. In 15 minutes or less, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway’s rotating gondola briskly whisks you from the warm desert floor through rugged Chino Canyon to the refreshing climes of a pine-studded forest. Begin your ride at the Valley Station (elevation 2,643 feet) and end at the Mountain Station (elevation 8,516 feet). In daytime or evening, view the expansive desert floor that is The Coachella Valley, and its surrounding mountain ranges. Explore gorgeous hiking trails amongst the towering pines. 

    Insider Tip: Grab a healthy picnic lunch at Palm Greens as an alternative to the full-service café at the top of the Tram. 

    Joshua Tree National Park 

    Drive 45-minutes outside of Palm Springs through thousands of wind turbines to arrive to Joshua Tree National Park, a playground of giant rock formations, back country trails, and wildlife. From easy to difficult trails, one can explore a stunning desert landscape by foot, mountain bike or horseback. Guided tours are also available. 

    Insider Tip: During the springs months of March - May see if you can spot the cacti blooming on the trails.
