Please explain the food and beverage minimum.

The food and beverage minimum is the least amount of money that you are required to spend on a combination of food and beverage, excluding service charge and sales tax, but is not all that you could spend. The food and beverage minimum is reached by selecting individually priced, a la carte menu items to equal or exceed the required dollar figure.

The following examples would apply towards the food and beverage minimum:

Hors d’oeuvres, food display and carving stations, plated or buffet meal, wedding cake, dessert display stations, wine service with the meal, champagne toast, the bar (including alcohol), specialty station and any non-alcoholic beverages.

Centerpieces, upgraded linens/china/silverware, décor, and specialty lighting would not apply towards the food and beverage minimum.

Can Food and Beverage be brought in from the outside?

The hotel must provide all food and beverage items. The sale and service of alcoholic beverages is regulated by the Florida State Liquor Commission and Viceroy Miami is responsible for the administration of those regulations. It is the hotel’s policy that all alcoholic beverages must be provided by the hotel.

When do I need to finalize my menu?

Food and beverage selections must be finalized and confirmed with your Wedding Coordinator a maximum of 6-8 weeks prior to the date of your wedding.

Can I create a customized menu for the wedding reception?

Additional menu selections and customized proposals are available through your Catering Manager. We will be happy to customize a menu based on your needs.

Do you offer a menu tasting?

We offer all our Brides the opportunity to experience our Chef's unique food tasting four to six weeks prior to the wedding. Please schedule your tasting with your Catering Manager.

Does the hotel offer a discounted guest room block?

If you wish to reserve a block of rooms for your family and guests, please notify your Wedding Coordinator who can provide you with availability and rates.

Where does the bridal party get ready before the wedding?

We recommend guestroom reservations be made for a minimum two night length of stay with a check-in date of the night before the wedding and checkout the day after the wedding. This will eliminate the stress on the day of the wedding of having to check-in and out of guestrooms.

When do I need to let the hotel know exactly how many guests will be attending my event?

The hotel must be notified of the exact number of guests attending a function at least 72 working hours prior to the start of the event. This will be considered a guarantee, for which you will be charged, even if fewer guests attend the event.

Can I arrange to have my ceremony at the hotel?

Yes. You may arrange to have your ceremony in designated areas of Viceroy Miami. Ceremony fees range from $700 to $2,500 depending on the site selection.

What does a typical wedding cost at Viceroy Miami?

Cost varies based on personal preferences and special requests of the bride and groom and also largely with the wedding size and guest count.

Is there a service fee or sales tax?

Viceroy Miami will apply a 22% taxable service charge and 9% sales tax to all food and beverage items.

Can you recommend vendors that you work with?

Yes. Viceroy Miami will be more than happy to provide you with recommended vendors. Please consult with your Catering Manager for a recommended list of creative and qualified wedding professionals.

Is it less expensive to host a wedding in the Summer or Winter?

Summer is traditionally thought of as low season in Miami. We can offer more flexible conditions during that time with lower food and beverage minimums.

Do I need to provide a deposit to secure my date?

To secure a date, a signed contract and non-refundable deposit is required. The deposit is 25% of the estimated value of the event. A full estimated prepayment of the event is due two weeks prior to the wedding date. A credit card will need to be on file to accommodate any overages on the day of the event.

How many guests fit in the Great Room?

Our Great Room is approximately 2,666 Square feet and can accommodate up to 160 guests with a dance floor.

Does the Great Room have windows?

The Great Room offers floor to ceiling windows.

What time does my event need to conclude within the Great Room?

Our standard Wedding Package includes 5 hours of service, additional hours are available for $500 per hour In addition to bar fees. All events in the Great Room must conclude no later than 2:00 a.m.

Can I host my entire event outside?

Viceroy Miami offers a wide and appealing selection of outdoor venue spaces. We recommend that for every outdoor function, a back-up space is also secured in case of inclement weather. Outdoor music entertainment must conclude by 10:00 p.m. Please also note that glassware is not permitted by most outdoor venues due to the proximity to the pool.

Can my guests park at the hotel?

Yes. Valet parking is available at $15.00 per automobile.

Does your hotel provide complimentary bridal suites?

We offer a complimentary suite to the bride and groom on the night of the wedding.

Can I have my photos taken at Viceroy Miami?

We do allow the couple getting married on property to have pictures taken within their contracted ceremony and/or reception venues.  Please contact your catering manager regarding photography in areas other than the contracted ones.

Is there someone to assist us on our wedding day?

Yes. Your Catering Manager will be on site to assist you on your special day.
