Viceroy Anguilla Gives Back
Viceroy Anguilla is committed to finding ways to meaningfully give back to both the local and global communities. Our seasonal programming includes events and activities where our guests can join us in community outreach.
Backpacks & Givebacks Benefiting Anguillian Schools
As the island's largest employer, Viceroy Anguilla is invested in the island's education program. "Backpacks & Givebacks" is a program where our guests help us to fill backpacks with school supplies for children the Alwyn Alison Richardson Primary School. Children grades K through 6 will receive these back-to-school backpacks to help them prepare for the academic year ahead. The program is held daily during the summer and is complimentary for guests. We provide the supplies, as well an ice cream reward.
TOMS Style Your Soul Events
Families can decorate their own pair of TOMS shoes during the Style Your Soul Events that the resort hosts over holiday seasons. Each child brings a pair of TOMS and can use paint to customize their pair of shoes. TOMS shoes can be bought at The Boutique, and each pair purchased donates another pair to a child in Argentina. Giving back to the community of Anguilla was the idea of some of our guests. With that in mind, we researched the areas in most need and discovered that the Anguilla hospital was in need of a few important items. During the 2015 Festive guests donated the following: a critical care incubator, a patient lift, a fracture bed and general medical supplies as well a few items to bring smiles to all faces: snuggly Teddy Bear and Comfort Kits.
Wheels in Motion
A major mode of transportation on Anguilla is bicycles. Some children aren’t able to have their own bike and our Festive guests wanted to help change this. During Festive 2015, the resort purchased (on behalf of the Festive guests) 24 bikes (four bikes for each of the six primary schools) for deserving children in academics, extracurricular activities, athletics and behavior/performance. The guests of Festive helped assemble the bikes and the 24 happy children had new bikes during the holiday season.
