Italy is known for its love of football (or soccer, for Americans), but Chef Andrea did not grow up as a fan. When the television’s control was in the hands of his father and brother, Andrea happily spent his youth in the kitchen with his mother as she prepared the fresh pasta, decadent pastries and antipasto of his home region of Italy: Puglia.
With such real-life training from his mother’s kitchen, it’s no surprise that Andrea joined the kitchens of his hometown before moving to Bologna, the gastronomic capital of Italy, to continue his culinary training. Andrea has traveled the globe, including his last five years in the United Arab Emirates, cultivating his skill in Italian specialties. He shares that the secret to his success is to “use simple and fresh ingredients with a hint of love.”
